hi, i have multiple macbook pro over the course of a month (broken laptop were replaced by apple)... the first two that arrives has a slightly loose screen hinge.. and now, my latest one actually is very tight, sort of like the one on macbook tight. which makes it creaks a bit when it open.. i actually like it to be this tight, but is there a chance that the guy who assemble the laptop actually screw the hinge to tightly that it could damage the hinge mechanism?

    thanks

Should not be problem - I too have a tight lid hinge that squeaks when I open and close. I've had the MBP for 2 years and have no problems.

I've had m 15" mbp for nearly 2 years and it has stayed stiff. I even mentioned that when I had to bring it in for the battery recall and the genius staff said it wouldn't be as stiff after use but it still holds up very well.
