Macbook pro's device manager hardware?

I'm trying to find where my hardware manager is in this macbook pro 17" notebook.

Equivalent of Device Manager in Windows?
I *think* (and it's been awhile since I've used a Mac) it's Apple menu > About this Mac > then click "More Info..."

Umm. I am pretty sure that's how you open "System Profiler" which has a hardware section... There is not something identical.

 

I went into system profiler but it dose not show the devices like in windows as far as I could see

 

AFAIK, that's as good as it gets. Like I said, it's not identical to Windows.
What are you looking to do?

 

I just got this mac last night and I want to confirm the hardware specs

I thought after all these years on a windows I would try something different !

I don't even know how to get to "apple -"about this mac" as you said earlier

Up at the very top of your screen, all the way to the left hand side, there is a little apple icon. Click that, and go down and select "About this Mac"
This is kind of like right clicking my computer and selecting properties, it gives basic information about the system.
Then click "More info..." which will open system profiler. On the left hand side, there will be a tree called "Hardware." When expanded, this lists all of the hardware of your computer, in detail, by category. This is as close to device manager as it gets as far as I know.

 

Just search for System Profiler using Spotlight. Hold in Cmd and press the spacebar, or click on the blue magnifiying glass on the top right corner of your screen.

one more question I got last years model with the clicker bar not like the New ones, and the clicker on the right side does not work it doesn't do what the mouse does on a windows machine, is there a difference in these clickers between a mac machine and a windows machine?

what I'm saying is the mac has a straight bar but but only does one thing not like a windows machine where you have 2 clickers and does 2 different things ?

There is no right click on that model.
What you can do is hold down control and *click* to get the "right click" context menu.

there is only one mouse button. you cant click on the right side of it, and get a right click. its one left click
