    Hi everyone,

I need some help with my macbook.

My child did something to our macbook. Somehow changed resolution or screen settings, the text looks really weird...they are black, blue and red, very hard to read.

We have tried to reset the screen but can't get it to look as it did before.

Everything with more than 256 colors (thousands and millions) does not look right. The colors will blend and everything is whitish with the higher settings. If it is set to say 1152x720, 256 colors, the colors are ok but the screen is fuzzy (like you would expect from the lower color setting).

I can't seem to find a setting in system properties that resets the display to how it was before. Is there a way to reset to factory or some other setting I may not know about?

    Thanks so much

The native resolution for the panel is 1280x800 so I would start with that.

    Thanks.
That just makes the screen size different.

    That turned the screen black.
Maybe I should post a pic.

If you're running Leopard and have Time Machine backing up, have you tried reverting to an earlier state?

if you do not know how to make a picture of your screen, here is the shortcut that you will need.

    command+shift+3 the whole screen.
    command+shift+4 you pick the screen.

I think that it is a better idea to let us take a look at what is on your screen.

    Good luck

most likely there is a changed Color profile, or something similar, have you tried looking in the Color tab of your Display preferences? the default setting should be "Color LCD"
