Do the Macbooks have the Santa Rosa processor?
-
No, they still have rosetta.
-
Nope they don't. Only the MacBook Pros do. Its possible that the MacBook will be updated with LED and Santa Rosa in October, though.
tatsumi, I think you're a bit confused
. Rosetta isn't a processor or processing platform. Its a "undercover" program in Mac OS X that translates application code written for PowerPC Macs to be "understood" by Intel Macs. Although it isn't used much anymore, as the only major application for Mac still not Universal Binary is Office 2004.
But that's okay
, everyone makes mistakes and tech terms can get very confusing, really.
-
oops sorry. kudos to you.

Santa Rosa is also a Platform...
I know also that Apples stuff can't be Centrino platform becoz the wireless chip tat apple has doesn't complies to the centrino platform... -
Santa Rosa is a chipset that accepts Merom (Core 2 Duo) and Penryn (when they're released) processors. It has an 800MHz Front Side Bus speed.
Napa is it's predecessor, a chipset that accepts Yonah (Core Duo) and Merom (Core 2 Duo) processors. It has a 667MHz Front Side Bus speed.
The Macbook has a Napa chipset, while the newer Macbook Pro has a Santa Rosa chipset.
