The Notebook Review forums were hosted by TechTarget, who shut down them down on January 31, 2022. This static read-only archive was pulled by NBR forum users between January 20 and January 31, 2022, in an effort to make sure that the valuable technical information that had been posted on the forums is preserved. For current discussions, many NBR forum users moved over to NotebookTalk.net after the shutdown.

    Are there any less expensive (preferably free) alternatives to this program? I honestly cannot bring myself to spend 50 dollars for 3.4mb of program :(.

    You're close to out of luck here. HFSExplorer can read HFS drives (I think?), but I haven't tried it.

    Honestly though, this is one area where you don't want to be messing around with untested software with a small user base that most people haven't heard of. You don't want some odd software without a lot of support to crash and destroy your OSX partition :p. As it is, there are people who even have issues with MacDrive.
