So since yesterday I've been hearing this beep coming from my iMac. I'm thinking to myself, what could it be? Its just a single beep, about every 2 minutes. I checked around, ran some diagnostics, rebooted, logged into Vista thru Boot Camp, and still was hearing this beep. In my search to discover what could be making this out of the ordinary noise, I failed to look at the obvious: my Logitech Harmony 880 remote. Dang thing was sitting right underneath the iMac, and THATS what was beeping (low battery). I could kick myself

Haha, I've done that before too: I'm on my MacBook and I'm on FutureShop.ca (a large Canadian tech chain), and I suddenly hear these noises. I freak out and check where the shuffling noise is coming from and its the Future Shop guy holding up a sign. If you go to FutureShop.ca and look at the video screen near the top left of the site you'll understand :D.

    Hehe.

I think something like that has happened to anyone with a computer, from Mac to PC.

It's happened to me a few times.

    ;)

Actually, a Canadian-arm of a large American tech corporation.

    :p

that wasn't the point of the story.......so it really doesn't matter if it was actually a monkey selling business that sells staples on the side which have anchovies hidden inside them. the point is that it is a tech shop website.

i have a few like this as well. i pulled apart and rebuilt my computer twice only to realise the reason why it wasn't working was that the electricty mains breaker had operated........
