For those of you who own a Core 2 Duo MacBook Pro, what is the longest battery life you can get out of your unit? Is there like some power monitoring option that allows you to maximize battery life? Is this monitoring option available on both Windows XP and MacOSX?

The power management isn't availble for bootcamp yet. So the battery life is much shorter than in OS X. A friend of mine only gets just over an hour with his CD MBP. But he keeps the brightness almost all the way up, which kills the battery (and is really a bit excessive for when not plugged in).
You can get over 4 hours with the MBP when doing light work (typing and surfing web) with very low brightness (still more than usable).
Apple states that the battery life is longer on the C2D, but not by very much.
But yes, there are different power settings you can choose and modify under OS X. -
I've gotten 3hr 30 min or more with 1 brightness (it's still really bright), no bluetooth and no wireless! Wireless on cuts the battery life down by about 1 hour.

On a C2D? Man, no wireless and 1 box on the battery life I get closer to 4.5 hours. Are you using the HDD or DVD drive a lot?

Okay..maybe more like 4 but I don't think I've ever gotten more. How many inches is your macbook pro?

I don't mean to butt in for you hollownail but FidyYuan, his sig states 15".
Max battery you can crank out of your C2Duo MBP?
