But can you pass up a deal like 2GB memory for $39.99? There's even a $10 rebate for it! I just bought 2 for my MBP, so hopefully they'll work without a problem. The rebate is 1 per household, so if you bought 2 modules it would still only be $70 after rebate.

Wow, great find. I hope I can find a deal like this in February so I can update my MBP's memory.
-
Its a deal that cant be passed up. Especially if you bootcamp into Vista or run VM's.
-
I bought 2 sticks of these late last week for $100. Now they are $60??? What gives??? -
Haha, same deal over at NCIX for us Canadians, $40 for 2x1 GB OCZ RAM. I got my 2 GB of RAM when it was $55 a few days ago, but I'm not too disappointed that I missed out on the current deal, as I'm going away for the holidays and if I ordered now I wouldn't get it in time.
-
Virtual Machines is exactly the reason why I couldn't pass up this deal. Now when I boot my Boot Camp partition under VMware Fusion, I can allocate 2GB of RAM to Vista the memory hog

Memory prices have been fluctuating even more than usual lately. That's quite a drop downward. I had ordered a 2x2 GB desktop kit for my new mid-tower system build. I paid $110 for it last week. This week, it's up to $140.
Kind of like fishing, you just have to be in the right place at the right time in order to capitalize. -
100$ for 2x2GB here.
i couldnt imagine running my VMs withoutit. -
that's amazing. I remember when those cost more in the range of $400. too bad my macbook only supports 2 gigs.
-
I already have 2G in my system, I do not need 4G so far.
-
I found a similar deal, and just had to go for it. I rarely see the boost with the 4 GB, but I figured that it can't hurt to be prepared for the next few years.
-
I think my 2.33MBP can only handle 3gb.. will I notice a difference compared to 2gb? I wonder if it's even worth the slight difference.
-
I'd say no...the difference between 2 GB and 3 GB is not much. I'd rather use the saved money on a mouse or keyboard
.
-
You can tell when you need more ram because your Macbook will spend far too much time swapping things on and off the hard drive, causing an ugly system-wide slowdown. You won't get any significant performance increases if you aren't getting close to using all 2 gigs at once in the first place.
-
LMAO, "drop downward"? Redundant wording, that's like saying "frozen ice".
Sorry for the pun, just couldn't pass it up but anyways that is a great deal on the ram but I'm scared about the quality when the price gets this low.
-
$400?
when they first came out and for months, they were over $1200 for the pair, and thats the best price you could find, imagine what people like dell were charging -
Just like the more recent days when 256 MB flash drives were $70 each?
-
Well, I did mean $400 each
But yeah, it's crazy stuff, eh? -
Can't wait for $50 hd-dvd and blu-ray combo drives to hit the shelves... should be anytime now seeing how practically anything new in the tech world quickly becomes reasonable within a year or two.
-
32 GB iPod Touch for $300 please!
-
Just an update for anyone who doesn't trust such inexpensive memory...I received the memory this evening and installed it. Works great so far. Huzzah for 4GB of RAM!
-
Well, I'm sure out of the box, it won't be any issue...most people are probably worried about reliability, say after a year or so.
Maybe you don't need 4GB of RAM on your MBP...
