when i get my mbp (the end of next week finally!!!) i am thinking of getting a wireless mighty mouse
what is everyone's opinion of this mouse? is the bluetooth connection secure/does it ever lag or anything?
thanks

It's a horrible mouse. Save yourself the pain and get a wireless Logitech mouse. Besides the fact that the Mighty Mouse is dreadful, the wireless will probably stop working after a month or two.
-
I like almost all of Apples products - but not this one. It is, as system_159 expressed it, horrible.
Get a normal PC mouse instead, you can use just about any mouse - it's probably cheaper and almost guaranteed to be better. -
it isn't horrible, as long as it keeps working, a lot of people have problems with them but I know plenty of people that have no problems with them at all.
if you go to a store just go and use a computer with a mighty mouse and see if you like it or not.
In my opinion, the whole mouse as a button thing is just clunky and feels disconnected, while all these other mice running about have really solid feels and clicks.
but a lot of people do like the Apple mice. -
They're crap, go buy yourself a Microsoft or Logitech notebook mouse. My Mighty "Crap" Mouse lasted 4 months.

I agree with Rodknee, Starlight, and System_159. The Mighty Mouse is extremely over priced. You can get a reliable, optical wireless mouse for $15-$20. Look into Logitech or Kensington. I was surprised with the quality of a $22.50 Kensington notebook mouse.

check my signature...thats the best mouse IMO

I personally liked using the mighty mouse when I was at the apple store. That said, I may pick up the new MS bluetooth mouse when I get my MBP. Either that or I wstick with my MX Revolution. I just hate the idea of suing a usb dongle.
-
I absolutely hated the Mighty Mouse. The only reason I used it was because it came free with my iMac.
-
I like the mighty mouse a lot, it just annoys me when it starts playing up.
-
You're buying a new MBP by the end of this week? Would you mind waiting a couple days? Rumor has it the MBP will be updated on June 5th in time for educational discounts. If not, there's also the WWDC. If not, then, ok, go ahead and buy the MBP!
-
I stay away from Apple mice and keyboards. Just get a good MS or Logitech mouse
-
I own a bluetooth mighty mouse and it looks amazing but it doesn't feel that great.

"Apple mice & keyboards: because you didn't need that wrist anyway."
Seriously though, I hate the Apple mice and keyboards. They eschew the slightest thought of ergonomics in favor of making it look understated, like a fancy paperweight. -

Even Mac OS users hate Apple keyboards and mice. I am confused
PC people hate Apple keyboards and mice. Linux people hate Apple keyboards and mice. Mac people hate Apple keyboards and mice. Who else is left? I guess DOS users prefer Apple keyboards and mice.
-
I love Apple keyboards even though am a PC user. I'll be a Mac user soon
-
i don't hate Apple mice and keyboards, the keyboards have always been perfectly fine, just as good as any other keyboard I have used, but I really prefer shorter stroke laptop style keyboards.
I tend to to worry too much about that sort of thing, I know I can adjust to it so I just try to get over any frustration I am having with simple things like that and focus on my project.
I hope Apple released a new keyboard soon, maybe they will when they update the iMacs and Mac Pro a little? who knows, it would be great if they released a shorter stroke keyboard like a lot of companies are doing, and just sell both.
the mice will always feel pretty disconnected to me, but like I said, I can always adjust, but it is just a little bit silly on their part. -
Well, the older keyboards (the ones that were used before the current ones) were great. See-through plastic, black keys, nice to type on. I use one of those with my Macbook Pro. Current ones work, but I don't really like them.
Logitech makes a nice Mac keyboard too, will get one of those some day... -
The mighty mouse is sort of like that annoying girl you end up falling for and dating forever!! When i bought my MBP i bought the mighty mouse with it..at first i absolutely hated it and often times the only time i used it was when i went to a cafe and that was just because it looked pritty...after using it long enough at cafe's i eventually got used to it and now i absolutely love it!! Like i go to future shop and use other mouses that are even more expensive and i dont find them half as nice as my Mighty mouse!! Oh and i just got the new mac key board but only because i have a glass desk and it matches nice
..so ya i think the ppl that hate the mighty mouse just didnt use it long enough to fall in love.
mighty mouse?
