The Notebook Review forums were hosted by TechTarget, who shut down them down on January 31, 2022. This static read-only archive was pulled by NBR forum users between January 20 and January 31, 2022, in an effort to make sure that the valuable technical information that had been posted on the forums is preserved. For current discussions, many NBR forum users moved over to NotebookTalk.net after the shutdown.

Exactly. The one I used for a week was my friend's computer (which was really slow), and yesterday he returned it. He was told that there have been many returns on the Timeline with the same complaint.

I am personally leaning towards the Sony FW series. Although I am also waiting to see if anything good comes out with the Win7/Core i7 laptop release wave.

This thread has steered off course and no longer is related to Macs, as you claim you don't want to get another Mac. You have gotten many good suggestions here, but if you'd like more, please fill out the FAQ and post in the What Notebook Should I Buy forum. This thread/forum isn't the place to be discussing what Windows laptop you'd like, so I'm going to close this thread.

If you want to create a thread that deals with what Windows notebooks are similar to Macs, that's fine, but keep it on topic. This has veered too far off.

    Thanks for understanding.
