What do you think is the most useful app in Os X Tiger? Out of all of the ones included even iLife, What is the most useful in your opinion?
-
Included with the OS? That is really tough. Outside of the iLife apps, I would say OmniOutliner maybe, but I am not sure if that even comes with OS X anymore. As for freeware, I would definitely make Quicksilver #1 on your list to get.

What does OmniOutliner do?
I'm thinking of getting an iBook to play with OS X a little.
Also, any comments on what these apps do & on MS Office for Mac? -
OmniOutliner is for making outlines as the name suggests. I use it for notetaking in class, and it works great. Quicksilver is a app launcher and much more. It is very difficult to explain, so it is best to check out their site.

MS Office for Mac is pretty good. The current version is a little slow, but that will be fixed with the next release in January. -
Thanks,
A little OT Q: Do Macs come with microphones built in(specifically the iBook G4)
& Thanks for posting,
Thomas
EDIT: nevermind I found it does have a microphone -
stealthsniper96 What Was I Thinkin'?
fore tiger, virtuedesktops is #1. i think you can figure out what it is by its name, but its for virtual desktops. quicksilver is a close 2nd tho

I'd have to say of all the default applications, either terminal or textedit wins. Both are very powerful once you learn how to use them properly. -
That's really hard...hmmm...but I really like the integration between Mail + Address Book + iChat. Its really nicely done and simple.
Post 4900. 100 to go!

Expose or Spaces. Quicksilver is decent too, but expose is amazing when working on projects.
-
I'll add Preview.app to the discussion, but I second the usefulness of both Terminal and TextEdit too. The functionality of Preview is fairly robust, even more so in Leopard. I use these three apps every time I turn on my Mac. Also iTunes, QuickTime, iChat, Mail and Safari. ... And everything else! -
Finder and Spotlight are pretty useful too.

Well, inside the OS I use iTunes to catalog my music, movies, music videos, and tv shows.
Outside the OS, I use Toast Titanium to backup my media, Roxio Crunch to convert video media for my iPod, Mac The Ripper to catalog my DVD collection into the computer, and Mozilla Firefox/Thunderbird for Internet/Mail.
