I have a targus mouse and i'm wondering if it would work with a Macbook? Also if there are certain drivers needed for things, would I have to get a OSX version of the drivers? I say this because I would need to install drivers for my phone and I have a cd which I guess would only work on windows.

You should not need mouse drivers for Windows or Mac at all. The only reason to install drivers is if it has some extra features, like buttons and such that OS X or Windows does not see by default. So in short, it should work like a normal mouse out of the box, however if there are extra features, you would likely need drivers to take advantage of those.

As for your phone, do a little research. Apple supports many phones out of the box. Someone has likely tried it so look and see if you can find them on google.

Try going to http://guide.apple.com and see if your phone is listed there, or just try it with iSync, it might work even if it isn't :)

In general though, if you need drivers for anything, you will need OS X specific ones yes.
