I'm looking for a website similar to Netflix that lets people download movies for a monthly fee. I've been looking for awhile, but I can't find anything that is compatible with OS X. Do you guys know of anything?

I know this is not exactly what you are asking about, but there have been rumors floating around for some time now about Apple offering Movie Rentals via the iTunes Store.

    The most recent speculation.

So there isn't any online movie subscription service for OS X besides the iTunes speculation?

There's Amazon Unbox, which is a rental service. However I have no clue about Mac compatibility.

I do not believe there are any movie rental services that will work with OS X. What it comes down to is DRM. Studios need that blanket and so the solution is to develop a player that can wrap the movies in whatever proprietary DRM the studio and service see fit. Unfortunately, those players are almost always Windows based. Netflix has said it plans to deliver OS X capability though.

This why DRM needs to die! I hate DRM, it always is so restricting and helps no one.

Also, you can't download movies using Netflix. You can stream movies to your computer, but you never have the file and can't back it up to a DVD or anything.

Most people with OS X don't. I do for two reasons. I have a Pinnacle movie box that only works on Windows that I use to convert VHS movies for the in laws, and Netflix Watch it now feature. I don't have cable, so the Netflix watch it now feature is something I really like (of course the pickins are fairly slim). So once all of the Azores VHS I have are converted and Netflix puts out a Mac client, I am probably done with Windows all together. Only exception might be a couple of games. :D

I don't either, but this may be a reason to try it.
