Following other threads i have tried a few options. Now i have a retina macbook pro 2.3ghz 16gb ram with the 650m graphic card.. I have succesfully overclocked it with nvidia inspector using the command promp followin the OP of another threads advice of using force state 02 instead of 01. The maximum stable OC i can get without the computer shutting down or getting artifacts is 1100/2500 as someone else mentioned... Any higher than this and the computer shuts down to a black screen after about 5 seconds. Wether this is driver related or not i dont know. Nvidia inspector is also very tricks. It seems for all the people that cant seem to OC even using the command promp... Myself also having the issue. I set it manuall through the drop down box to P5 or P2 first. Done the command promp code and then hit unlock max on the Inspector at the top. I was then able to slide the toggles to 1100 and 2500 and clicking apply without it droping the toggles back down to the default. My first original 3Dmark11 score was around 2300 i think roughly. With the OC running monitoring with core temp and lubbos running at the full 6000rpm on both fans to be safe im hitting 3006 on 3d mark 11 Also a note to anyone that cant get Lubbos running showing the correct cpu temp. On your Lubbos download files open up the fan controll text file and change CPUkey=TC0D to CPUkey=TC0F make sure its a capital F save and restart the Lubbos program... Note: you need to change that everytime you reset defaults and restart the program. My cpu temp has hit 95 degrees when playing CPU intensive games such as ARMA 2 and hits around 30FPS at 1920 1080 on full highest settings . Im not here to post up frame rates. Just hoping i could put my input in that. It is possible but it is tricky.
Heres a screen cap to show you my setup layout drivers etc...

Im thinking on doing the same thing. question is, is it worth it ?
Will i get huge performance difference in lets say Farcry 3 or will I just raise the temps/shortten the macbook's life ?
Edit :
could u also post a link please to where and how I perform the overclock ?
thank you
Edit :
I followed the youtube link here http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hjxi1bf1EKM . done all steps 1 by 1
and it seems that sometimes the clock stays on 900mhz and wont go up to 1050 or 1100... and sometimes when I press on apply overclock it still bounces back...
not sure what i did wrong, but i followed all steps including the batch file promp...
any ideas ? -
Mine did the same... what you need to do is force it into p1 for some reason mine would bounce back when forcing p5 in the command prompt. note: when forcing p1 through command prompt. go into inspector go to p1 toggle and click unclock max... you should then be able to apply a higher setting

I actually got a 3Dmark11 of 3015 which is my max im willing to do... max temps on BF3 is 95 c 1920 by 1080 on ultra around 35-40 fps Crysis 1920 by 1080 on ultra 30-35fps fifa 13 2880 by 1800 max settings 16x aa 80fps

This is so wierd... my memory clock goes up to 2500 as i asked it , but the GPU clock always stays on 900mhz even though i set it to 1100.... ?
Edit :
can you copy paste here the command you are using ? -
I managed to OC it to 1100/2500 but to be honest i didnt see a huge leap in performance. Something about an increase of 3-4 fps in hitman/farcry 3. Not sure if it is worth the OC... temps were moving around 80c which is quite cool.

You drag the exe to command prompt and type [fanspeed][space][fanspeed]
