    hey guys iam thinking of going the mac way..........but i have a bit of a concern...iam importing the new macbook pro i7 into india from usa does apple provide international warranty and what is the failure rates on the macbook pro...my basic use of the laptop will be listening music watching videos and photoshop and 3d modelling and occasional gaming ( i game on PS3)....is it better for me to go for the macbook pro or take the envy 15 which has better specs for lesser price.....i want my laptop to last for 3 years min....kindly help me out guys i need to make a decision soon.....THKS

    MBP here since 2007 just fine.
    I know in Russia there is no Apple Store at all, yet you still can get warranty service with resellers.
    I think the same could be true for India. But it's only theme could prove it true or not.
    I get tempted with Envys all the time, but once you got bitten by Apple bug, there's no way out ;)))

    so will the macbook pro i7 be suitable for occasional gaming in med settings....though i know envy is much better value for money iam just smitten by apple macbook design looks and stuffs..........and there are many apple resellers official in india.......my city itself has more than 10 stores

    get whats a better value to you.

    if the Envy is a better value for you, then get it.

    For some people the Macbook Pro would be a better value.

    If you do not want to use Mac OS X as your primary OS, then do not buy a Mac.

    As mentioned above, if your into the windows world, get the hp envy (through the new hp elibooks seem pretty nice). Warranty will be provided through resellers in your country...i would prefer the hp elitebook though because it comes with 3 years warranty as standard and it is cheaper than the macbook pro.

    The 5830 is a better gpu, might be useful if you are doing 3D modeling.

    iam still pretty much confused ....just tell me will the macbook i7 last for another three years.....i mean will it not be completly outdated in the next 3 years??
