Mind sharing it with other people, incase they have similar problems?

I woulda thought to drag it from the OSX install dvd.

When you download the Safari 4 beta, you get two files in the folder, an installer and an uninstaller. If you wanna install back your 3.2.1. Safari, you simply gotta uninstall the beta with the second file, then re-install the version you want, then it won't be blocked saying you got a more recent version installed. That's pretty much it.

I installed Safari 4 also and ran into a problem in Mail. Mail would crash and it pointed to "Growl Plugin" as the problem.

For anyone else with this problem, here's the fix

Library/mail/bundles folder ------ delete growl bundles

Mail is back up and working now. I guess Safai 4 doesn't play well with some plugins

    Um about your sig

Macs don't come with free anything. Especially things like should be free, like adapters. The new unibodies have a display "standard" that requires a $30 - or $99 dollar - adapter to work with every non-Apple (as well as some Apple) external displays. The only way it would work "out of the box" is if you buy the $900 LED monitor.

He's the current resident troll... ie no useful/helpful advice on how to help people.. real shame as he appears to be the opposite in other sub forums, not sure why he has such a passion and desire to post hate here on apple stuff?

Ps glad you figured it out.

^^^ Actually it works fine... its only the 24" cinema display which is tied to apple products currently, as there are no other laptops/gpu's offering display port. Although this will probably change by the end of this year (at least on desktops) as some graphics card makers are starting to offer display port on some models.

@ chyidean... yes it sucks that you have to spend extra for the adaptor but the reality is that it isn't a requirement for a laptop (screen is built in)... furthermore the majority of users will never plug into an external, thus apple has probably done its market research and realised that they can save /make some extra cash without annoying a large number of users... sucks but then they are a very profitable company so its no surprise.

The mini and macpro however are different and if apple doesn't include the adaptors for free with those then by all means rant away !
