    Hi

I recently bought a MBP SR, and installed XP in a bootcamp partition. After installing the drivers from the leopard disc, i wanted to turn off the screen off for awhile. So i opened power managment, sat the settings to "turn off monitor after 1 min". But it didnt work, screen saver works though. I tried posting this question on lot of other forums, but no luck, i hope i can get some help here. Thanks

all you need to do to turn off the screen is lower the brightness levels, press the F1 key, until the screen turns off.

let me know if that works for you.

it worked. Thanks for the help. Been trying to solve this for some time. But is it supposed to be like this? Does the power managment settings work on your MBP?

I've also had some minor issues, where the screensaver wouldn't turn on (it was turned to 5min idle) but that was with the last beta build of bootcamp.

Just to let you know, pressing F1 until the screen turns "off" doesn't actually turn off the display, it only turns off the back lighting. Otherwise, if you have a flash light, you could shine it on the display and see that your desktop/screensaver/movie is still showing.

I don't live in XP on mine, but the screen saver functions perfectly for me in Boot Camp. I have mine set to 1 minute.
