Ok, well I just got my new MBP , due to dropping my last one. Thing is, my PC laptop also brokedown for no reason and it had al of my mutimedia on it. Music, movies, etc. I use my MBP for school and my PC for all other stuff.

So now, when I download a video file I cant seem to play it in anything other than VLC media player for macs. The quicktime wont work, it says it needs some xvid codec. I want the movies to work in front row so I can access the movies while in bed, how can that be done?

I haven't installed Perian yet since I don't know if it will trigger a bug in Warcraft III related to Quicktime playback of WMV files. Besides VLC is just fine for me most of the time... does someone has both WCIII and Perian installed?

I run Warcraft 3 fine with Perian installed. However, I believe I did have to disable something before being able to play (probably the in game movies).

And no, currently there is no way to have full Matroska support for Quicktime. There is a Matroska component out, but that is very buggy.

Yep, that's exactly the bug I was talking about... not a showstopper but I haven't beaten the Frozen Throne yet  so I'll postpone it a bit.
