I'm seeing written that the new 2011 MBA's now use a logic-board soldered SSD, in addition to the memory(as has been on the 2010). Hence making any aftermarket storage upgrade now a non starter.

    Can anyone confirm this?

I suppose if it is true, then there is some small comfort insofar as it might preserve a slightly better resale value for my 2010 unit, for which the SSD can be upgraded far beyond the current model.

I would be interested in this as well, if the mPCIE SSD cant be swapped it makes it a "not interested " for me

Whew. Ifixit has destroyed that rumor.

The SSD appears to be unchanged from the previous 2010 edition, at least on the 13" unit.
