Shame they don't have the screen resolutions yet.
And they're continuing to offer 2 GB of RAM in a $1000 machine, even if it IS the base model? Seriously, why not have 4 GB standard? How much would that take out of the profit margin, like $20? -
are they....sandy bridge chips?

They are already on Apples website.. no need to have leaked specs when Apple is telling you what they are.

The Mac mini is pretty cool too... with the high end one actually having a GPU added.... even if its very low end, its better than the HD 3000... but all the Air's have dual cores and HD 3000s. -
And they dropped the MacBook...shame, I would have lowered the price on those things to about $599 or $699 instead of discontinuing the line

That's dirt cheap. Apple would never do that. I've never seen a Macbook sell for less than ~$750. The white Macbook is still selling under the refurbished section for $849. However, I like the way Apple is transitioning away from using CDs by making everything available online for download. I'm looking forward to getting a MBA in the future. I just wished there was an antiglare and higher resolution option on the 13".

Considering I just bought 2x 4GB SODIMM modules for $45 at retail ($11.25 per 2GB), it shouldn't cost Apple more than $5 for 2GB's worth of chips. But of course a few dollars saved here and there amounts to many millions when you're Apple.
I am very tempted by the 13" Air. I want the 1440x900 resolution. -

The specs look interesting. I actually wanted a MBA when I first picked up my MBP but I didn't like the idea of buying a Mac without a backlight keyboard as I use that feature quite a bit. I also didn't want to buy into extremely dated technology with the C2D processors. I am still happy with my MBP purchase and wouldn't trade it but I think the MBA will be my next notebook many years down the line.
I don't think there is really anything in the specs that aren't surprising as we pretty much had an idea of what was going to get upgraded, we just didn't know exactly when that would happen. On a side note, I am glad they killed off the standard MacBook. It stood out, was greatly overpriced, and took away from the overall design of what people expect notebook Macs to be. -
Definitely looks interesting. Certainly an option for college students.

What a shame, the intel hd 3000 would've been fine but since it is paired with a ULV SB cpu means it is the slower version of the HD 3000.
The full powered Intel HD 3000 is comparable to a geforce 310m/320m but since this is ulv sb cpu, the clocks on the hd 3000 is even lower thus much lowered performance.
For people playing HD videos it should be adequate, but say goodbye to native res smooth gameplay even at low-med for casual gamers. -
Hey...Apple only posted over $7.31 BILLION (yes, with a "B") net profit last quarter. That's all money out of OUR pockets (you're welcome, Steve). I don't think they could afford to lose $20 out of every MBA they sold. God forbid their profit for next quarter drops to $7.29B because they doubled the RAM in the MBA for free!!!

Yes, but moving away from NVIDIA might improve long term reliability tremendously. For a lot of people, especially the one's who'd suffered a NVIDIA GPU failure in recent years, the presence of an NVIDIA GPU was a major turn-off. I wouldn't have even considered anything with as NVIDIA GPU.

People playing 3D accelerated hardcore games on a Mac, let alone a MB Air, is even a smaller niche than people who play PC games so it doesn't matter. Buy something else if you want to play games, preferably not a Mac.
