Yes, you're right taelrak. It is paying a premium to have the MacBook Pro, and by only running Windows, it is not using your MacBook Pro to its full potential.

Yes, Thinkpads are very durable. Thinkpads are built extremely well, very solid machines. But their design is in a different league compared to the MacBook Pro.

Sam, your point is well taken however the example about the iPod isn't very relevant since the iPod does video and music you are just choosing to play music which is what I do. That's not modifying the way it works. A better example of what taelrak was saying is like take the iPhone and removing OSX and installing Windows Mobile. What's the point when you can get a Windows mobile device.
Sure it would make sense if Apple shipped both the Windows and Mac OS on the computer and said, "run whichever OS you want" but my point is the costs. The MBP cost more than the Dell but it does make up for the fit and finish but then you have to factor in the cost of a Windows license and you won't get any Windows support from Apple past the bootcamp drivers.

Sony is the Apple of the PC world and the AR series looks pretty good but if you or anyone else is willing to go through a few extra steps to run Windows only on the Mac then go for it. It's funny how people talk about how expensive the Macs are but are willing to spend even more money out of pocket to use one.
