Hey i had a questions about the new MBP 13in that claims a 10hr battery. Is this the same battery as the 7hrs one or is it a different one. If it is a new and improved battery would i be able to upgrade my "old" MBP13 for this new one?

Probably yeah, but it's not going to make much of a difference, it's more then just a new battery that gives the new MBP's longer battery life.

What else is there? The hardware seems to be the same except for the graphics card. That why i was wondering if the battery is in some way different (bigger or newer technology).

there is no graphics card... its a new chipset with integrated graphics.... its supposed to be much more efficient, and I think the battery is probably slightly larger as well. There are probably some OS optimizations as well to help on the battery.

I'm looking into selling my 15" Macbook Pro with the replaceable battery and looking into either getting the new 13' Macbook Pro or the 15" Macbook Pro. Those new 10 hrs. battery times on the 13" Macbook Pro look pretty good. I can only get about 2.5-3.0 hours of my battery on my laptop now

I think the battery itself is a little bit bigger. This is how they are getting their extended battery life.

The new battery is 63.5W-Hr vs 54W-Hr (I think this to be right) in the old model. The added capacity will easily add about 1hr depending on useage, but the rest of the "3 hr" gain has to be coming from other system tweaks and probably power savings from the new GPU. The new CPUs (just faster C2Duos) should be operating within the same power envelope and shouldn't suck down any more power despite being faster.

Numbers look really good. Would be nice of someone here who bought one would chime in on how long they are actually able to use it for with basic internet surfing with just the wifi on and about 70-80% brightness.
