Hey all. I could use some help. I've got Boot Camp running WinXP Pro SP2 on my new MBP. However, there are a few drivers that refuse to work...

Video: I've tried these drivers ( http://www.laptopvideo2go.com/forum/...howtopic=13246) and modded INF, but when installing they freeze the system right here every time.

    Notice the upper left corner...

Now when I restart, the desktop loads but this weird upper left thing shows up and the system freezes.

I've used the recovery console to boot in "Enable VGA mode". It loads and I'm able to go in and spec the 1440x900 resolution just fine. But when I try to run the nvidia console, the same weird upper left deal and it freezes.

Audio: No audio drivers loaded. Something special I have to do?

    Built-in iSight: No load.

Ethernet Controller: No load. This one is a must for me.
Trackpad: tapping the pad does not act like a click?

    Any thoughts?

I tried everything and I had the same problem. I think Nvidia never released official drivers for the 8600m GT for XP so we may have to wait.

    Ahh doh. Ok...

Well the work around does work for now. Boot into "Enable VGA Mode" then change your resolution. Just dont try to run the nvidia control panel.

Any thoughts on the other issues?

Also bootcamp 1.3 was just released you should give that a shot!

Let me know if you get it working because I will probably reinstall XP if it does work. I like it a lot more than Vista.

Windows XP does not come with MS high def audio driver, you need to install this driver first before the audio chip driver.

Go into Device Manager, expand System Devices (should be expanded already), and you will find that there is a PCI device question mark. Right click on the PCI device and choose to update driver, and let it check Internet automatically for driver (make sure you're connected). It will load the correct device driver and the question mark will go away.

If you've already tried to install the audio chip driver before the above instructions, Windows will automatically start installing the audio driver chip, once finished, restart system.

If you haven't tried to install audio driver before, do so and follow the installer.

Success! Almost all issues completely solved. I downloaded v1.3, created the disk, rebooted into XP and let the disk autoplay. It uninstalled v1.2, and installed v1.3.

The audio issue is no longer; birdguy thanks for the solution, but v1.3 took care of it automatically.

Video driver v101.34 Works like a champ. Downloading 3dmark05 now...

iSight: this is still showing as a bad driver. During the install of v1.3 it did show as installing, but still no go. EDIT: If I load "Scanners and Cameras" in Control panel, it does show a "USB Video Device". Click it and bang there I am staring at myself. So what is iSight and why is it unhappy?

Ethernet: wired lan present and accounted for.

Trackpad: tapping the pad still doesn't act as a mouse click.

All in all, I'm one happy guy. Thanks for the help guys!

Nice!! XP here I come! Make sure to post your 3dMark scores! It will be interesting to see compared to what I got on Vista. I'm hoping that it will be much better.
