I have the Core 2 Duo X1600 128MB version, and I've found the MBP quite hot while gaming. Especially in Window mode, the fan is screaming like mad. I checked the temperature log that it could reach as high as 70C (Thanks to the thin size and ATI display chip).

Does anyone have the log or knows the temperature while in-game for the NEW MBP? I dont think the 2.2g or 2.4g new cpu will get cooler than pervious generation... but I think Nvidia 8600GT is cooler than ATI X1600... I would love to know if anyone can tell me your new MBP's gaming temperature?

the temperatures are going to stay very much the same.

the 2.4ghz processor is going to be just as hot as the 2.33ghz proc from the last gen, with only a mild increase in performance.

the 8600m gt gpu is considerably faster, but its not any cooler. 80nm for the new nvidia chip vs 90nm for the slightly older ati chip. basically- you get an increase in performance without increasing the cost on the battery/heat.

except 70C temps (on the gpu only) when gaming with the 8600m gt. the other internals should not get that hot.
