I just got back from the Apple store and I am typing this on my new 2.2 GHz Macbook.![]()
The way they handled it seems a bit underhanded though. I checked out the display tables and the pricing on the floor. They were still selling the "older" models for the same price. I'm guessing that if you didn't know any better and walked in off the street that they would sell the old hardware to you @ the same price. That just doesn't seem right to me.

Are you sure they were still actually selling the older models? I don't think they are. It just takes Apple time to completely update their display models and the corresponding documentation. When I purchased my MBP the store still had some of the previous generation MBPs on display. Some of the the new MBPs even had inaccurate display information.

I got the old Black MacBook and returning it tomorrow for 100% refund and exchange!
I do not know much about Mac, but checking the settings it clearly tells me I have the GMA950 video card --- which is NOT the new MacBook!!shame on you Appl!!
-
WOW! I'm surprised to hear something like that. Yeah, just contact the Apple Store and let us know what happens.
-
And not sure if it was a typo for "shame on you Appl!!", but just in case, if you were trying to use Apple's stock ticker symbol, its AAPL.
-
In about a week's time, I'll be the one typing on a new Macbook!
Get ready to welcome me to the family, guys -
you will love your MACBOOK.
ya gonna get white or black? -
Most likely the basic 2.0 GHz White version... I can't justify spending an extra $400 to get a black case + marginal performance gain (despite the fact that it's dead sexy
)
-
Yay, two Sams from Vancouver using white 2.0 GHz MacBooks!
-
I highly doubt this, but do you think I could turn my macbook in for the new one? I got it back in August lol maybe I could pay like $200 or something
-
-
haha my friend just bought a new macbook and he got it in the mail the very day before the secret update! haha priceless and whats even funnier is that Leopard was n't pre installed Tiger was and the Leopard box was thrown in the box haha!
-
Which actually is not a horrible thing. At least if you dislike Leopard, you have a copy of Tiger to use.
