I just got back from the Apple store and I am typing this on my new 2.2 GHz Macbook. :D

The way they handled it seems a bit underhanded though. I checked out the display tables and the pricing on the floor. They were still selling the "older" models for the same price. I'm guessing that if you didn't know any better and walked in off the street that they would sell the old hardware to you @ the same price. That just doesn't seem right to me.

Are you sure they were still actually selling the older models? I don't think they are. It just takes Apple time to completely update their display models and the corresponding documentation. When I purchased my MBP the store still had some of the previous generation MBPs on display. Some of the the new MBPs even had inaccurate display information.

WOW! I'm surprised to hear something like that. Yeah, just contact the Apple Store and let us know what happens.

Yes, return it and get a new one. If you want to check what graphics card you have, just go search "System Profiler" with Spotlight and go to "Graphics/Displays".

And not sure if it was a typo for "shame on you Appl!!", but just in case, if you were trying to use Apple's stock ticker symbol, its AAPL :p.

Most likely the basic 2.0 GHz White version... I can't justify spending an extra $400 to get a black case + marginal performance gain (despite the fact that it's dead sexy :()

I highly doubt this, but do you think I could turn my macbook in for the new one? I got it back in August lol maybe I could pay like $200 or something

Well, its more likely if you pay extra (I'd still doubt it though, unfortunately), but if you just want to exchange your August MacBook for a November updated MacBook with nothing in return, then that'd be deadly for Apple's business if they let you! :p

Yeah, not all the Macs shipped around the Leopard launch date have Leopard pre-installed, and instead it comes with a Leopard disc...

Which actually is not a horrible thing. At least if you dislike Leopard, you have a copy of Tiger to use.

    Post 4444 :D.
