hey guys i just got my macbook whte unibody monday this week and i calibrated my battery, used coconut battery and it says i only have 99% of my original battery cap left. is it normal for me to lose 1% already in 3 days? it says my macbook is 2 months old though, would it have decreased while it was stocked? before i calibrated it showed me with over the cap (5545/5450) now its 5430/5450. maybe im just being paranoid
thanks

There is nothing wrong with 99% Health. You're just being paranoid.
-
Li-ON Batteries will degrade even if you aren't using it. An average lithium based battery shelf life is about 2-3 years. So, I would say it's about right...
-
My battery died after 11 month from moderate use, so you never know
-
Mine just died after 14 months.
-
I know you guys are saying it's normal but i checked again just now and it's dropped to 96%, i checked with coconutbat and istat pro.. is this a sign of bad things to come
also i checked on system profiler the first time i booted the mac up and it was always condition: normal did i get an older battery? i thought it was supposed to say great or good when it came to a new macbook -
I guess I'm doing pretty good.
-
The more you keep your battery on charge, the better health it gets. i've seen my health decreasing to 94% due to using it on battery constantly and a few days on charge and the health sky rocketed to 99%.
-
That's not entirely true. If you don't ever use your laptop battery and always use it on AC, your battery will most likely suffer a premature death.....essentially from lack of use.
It's a good idea to cycle your battery at least a couple times a week.
And again, to the OP, you're being over paranoid and fixating on numbers. Use it, and enjoy it! That's what it's there for. -
Capacity varies depending on the conditions e.g. temperature and stuff like that, if you drop below 90% within a few months then contact apple
-
lol 7 load cycles in 15 months?
-
I'm willing to bet if you started using the battery a few times and then calibrated it, you'd see a large drop in your capacity.
-
Probably, but it rarely leaves my desk so I don't care
-
Except that one time when you have to leave your desk, with your MacBook, without the power adapter, to show the CEO a financial presentation that the future of the company relies on.......only to have your battery die and the company fall into bankruptcy! LOL
-
My battery health initially dropped a few points after the first few load cycles, then climbed up to 100%, and has held a capacity higher than it's initial value since then. I think I am at about 40 cycles and 9 months.

samy happened to me xD but im at 100+% after 166 cycles and its been calibrated xD and my mbp 17" is on arround 2,000 cycles and 78%
new macbook battery
