This static read-only archive was pulled by NBR forum users between January 20 and January 31, 2022, in an effort to make sure that the valuable technical information that had been posted on the forums is preserved. For current discussions, many NBR forum users moved over to NotebookTalk.net after the shutdown.

    I agree.

    Also I was hoping they would finally update the case, as I think they got cheap when they migrated to an entire new Intel/Mac platform but put it in the old aluminum case. That case needs to be refreshed and updated with a new look.

    I smell profit taking and greed here, as they paid for that design and tooling of the case a very long time ago.

    Got cheap? From what everyone can tell the cooling when they went to Core 2 was completely redesigned. Look at the Mac Pro case. It is exactly the same on the outside as a G5, but completely different on the inside.

    The designs may be stale, but they aren't doing it to profit or because they are cheap. Right now they have a classic look to them, you can tell a Mac a mile away, they are easily seen on TV shows and the like. There is no real reason to change the look.
