    Greetings,
I've always been a Mac fan and am quite impressed with today's update. I recently purchased 2 new 13" Macbook's a few months ago for my mother and myself. The only complaint we both have is the horrible 2.3-3 hour battery life, instead of selling our lovely investments do you think we can pay to have the new built-in battery placed into the system or should we sell and repurchase? :( I understand the new systems have quite a few new hardware updates but that's all irrelevant, we just want that new sleek battery life! :D

PS- We also want the new iPhone 3GS. Grr Apple, you always know how to do it right. :)

You won't be able to upgrade your current macbook. You'll have to sell them and rebuy...should be able to get a decent price for the macbooks though.

Yup, selling and buying is the easiest and cheapest option, unless you want to get a replacement battery. :)

After seeing the revisions to the 13" MacBook (Pro), I really find no compelling reason to even remotely consider upgrading from my current 2.4ghz Unibody.

Extended battery - Since it's non-removable I might as well just buy a second battery if I ever find I need more power away from an outlet
SD Card Reader - Whoopie! I have a USB reader which I use once or twice in a blue moon
    Pro designation - Lame!
CPU Speedbump - Not enough to make a difference
Firewire - Personally no use for a dying technology

The price drop and spec bump on the Air was nice to see, but overall, nothing really monumental regarding the MacBook front.

I agree completely. What distinguishes the Pro from the regular Macbook is, to me, screen size and GPU. It doesn't make any sense (D'oh Apple) that they would incorporate the 13'' into the "Pro" lineup, especially when it has a 13 inch screen and the lower end GPU of the two. I can understand taking the 9600M GT out of one of the pro's, because many people wanted a 15 incher with only a GPU enough for daily computing.

I think it was a good move to go from using those flimsy, hardly ever even battery covers on the 1st unibodies to this, it's truly a slab now. A lot of people hardly ever swap batteries anyhow.

But since they ported this to the whole line, I was somewhat surprised that they didn't port the other thing from the 17s; matte screen option. Oh well, maybe that'll come in the next refresh.

Gotta save something for the next refresh. :D

My bottom battery cover isn't flimsy, it's just that sometimes it doesn't sit flush with the rest of the bottom. ;)

One of mine is perfect but the other, over time, just seems to have popped up in some sections and for the life of me I can't get it to be flush again.

Well I personally think it was a good idea. It's easier to say "13" MBP" than "Unibody MacBook." I personally see 13" MBP vs. MB analagous to the 12" PowerBook G4 vs. the 12" iBook G4.

Neither is any more difficult to say than the other.
