I have been a long-time fan of NBR but this is my first time on a Mac (Mac Mini to be precise)...so far, I am lovin' it ! I have been playing around with it for a few days and read the handy "switcher" guide posted on this board but I still have a Q or two about the screen. I have it plugged into my 22" HP LCD monitor. The 1st question is "Is it normal that it only uses 2/3 of the screen's width to display pages?"...I guess another way of asking would be "Is there a way for me to stretch out the page to fill the whole screen?" And more importantly, is there a way of viewing two documents/pages side-by-side? I do some spreadsheets and it is not super-convenient to constantly use Apple-~ to switch back and forth...thanks in advance !

OK- I feel dumb...found the "corner" pg box on lower right to shrink page...I'm assuming that I can't stretch it out to fill my entire screen tho right? Probably due to resolution?

In the bottom right corner on most windows you can see 3 small lines. Click and drag that and it will resize for you. Safari isn't so good at doing the whole screen thing when using the + button, use Firefox if you'll use it often, is quicker than dragging. In Safari when you click the + button it should still re-size to fit the content of the site you're viewing. Hope this helps.

in Firefox, you can go full screen by puching the green circular button at the top left of the application.
not always true in other apps, but in Firefox, it works. -
Thanks for the tip ! Girls are loving the Mac...

Yeah, Safari doesn't "maximize" to full screen for whatever reason. Apparently Apple's logic is that the window doesn't need to be bigger than than the width of the page being displayed. I personally find this annoying and is why I use Firefox & Chrome on my Mac
