I have been serching through forums for two days without finding a solution to this.
I'm using Leopard and Win XP, and the sound works on Leopard but not in XP. Everyng is working great in Xp otherwise.
I did install the drivers from the Leopard disc for XP.
I have tried different workarounds but nothing seems to work.
There are two audio drivers that get intalled from the Leopard disc; sigmatel and Realtek - when the disc installs sigmatel it says that there is anothere instance of it already running, although it's not and this is from a completely clean install.
I need a solution that is specific to the Leopard/Boot Camp and Win XP SP2/3 combination.
EDIT: I forgot to mention I'm on a MBP SR @2.4Ghz.

I've been hearing that SP3 as caused some audio issues. Don't know if there is solid evidence of it, but I keep reading threads about a similar problem on the forums here.

I did a search through Google regarding issues with SP3 but couldn't find anything relevant.
Ppl in this post are having the exact the same problem, but the solution there is not helping me and a few otheres. The post is fairly new too.

I've been fighting this problem for many days, on two different computers, from two different manufactures (Apple and HP). The only common thing was trying to install Windows XP with SP3 (BIG MISTAKE!).
But if you've already made it, here is the solution:
http://www.techarp.com/showarticle.aspx?artno=490
Basicly, download the file at the bottom of the page, unzip, go to Device Manager, right click the yellow (?) PCI driver, mark to select your own location and direct it to where you unzipped your file. That's it. UAA driver should be found and you should be able to hear sound.
If not yet, try now to re-install your audio drivers, and it should work. (if on mac, that means re-install boot camp drivers).
You welcome

You welcome
Mostly I only utilize web forums.
Thought it was time to contribute. -
This solution seems to work:

You have to manually extract the files from the exe by running with the /x flag. however. The driver is in the common files folder.
No sound in Leopard/Boot Camp with Win XP SP3
