Just thought I'd share my experience with Apple's customer service. After reading several threads concerning batteries rapidly dying, I decided to check the stats on my 8 month old MacBook Pro. Man, I was shocked to find that after 190 charges my battery was down to 64% health. It seemed like I was getting less battery life, but I didn't think it had gotten that bad. So I called Apple Care to explain the problem. The tech politely reminded me that my MacBook only came with 90 days of phone support, and asked if I wanted to purchase Apple Care. I declined his offer, and told him it wasn't a big deal and I would just take my MacBook to the local Apple store. This is where it starts to get good. The tech told me that he didn't think that would be necessary, and would gladly make an exception since I had never had to use the phone support. He had me look up the power info and agreed that was way too for the health of the battery after 190 charges. He then took my info, gave me a case and repair#, and told me that I would be receiving a replacement soon. He did inform me that he would need my cc card info, in the event that I didn't send back the old battery. (fat chance in that happening) He said I wouldn't be charged unless they didn't receive the old battery within the given time limit. I agreed and was told I should receive the replacement in a few days.
Let me tell you that I was shocked when I checked my email this morning. Turns out it had already made it from PA to TN and was on the truck for delivery today. So I hurried back home in time take delivery, and by 11 AM today I had my new battery and the old one was on its way back. Customer Service? I'll say!!!

I had a good experience with the Apple Store recently when my MBP's battery meter wouldn't give a good reading on how much charge was really in there. I was out of warranty, but the Apple Store replaced my battery free of charge with a brand new one on the spot.
In the event my desktop dies, I'll seriously consider replacing it with a Mac Pro, simply because I want the quality service. -
I've mentioned it various times that the # 1 top reason I moved from lenovo to Apple was due to their top-notch customer and warranty service, they always have treated me like a king of the castle.

I think it should be that way wether you buy a $500 system or $5000 System. So far any dealings with Apple have been nothing but amazing for me. I wish I could have said the same about my Last AlienWare experience.

Now thats Apple world class customer support. I felt the supposed greatness of Apple's service as well when I bought my iPhone 3G, in and out of the Apple store in just over five minutes.
Now that's customer service!
