fyi Intel finds flaw in Sandy Bridge chipsets, halts shipments - The Tech Report
-
this is the part I found amusing ... use the better controllers!.
well atleast Intel found the issue an is doing something ASAP. I can do without another Nvidia nightmare for RMA's -
lol, thats nowhere as bad as it sounds. most lappies only have two hard drives anyways and all the manufacturer has to do is make sure that they connect to the SATA 6 ports.

No a 1 billion dollar hit isn't bad in the slightest?!

Hey guys ... I just saw the relaunch of the MacBook Pro's and sadly ... no option for an extra graphic card on the 13" ... quite a disappointment, don't lough but I hoped i could play Crysis 2 on that
... with 2 FPS (@ nativ res 1280x800)?
The new 2011 MacBook Pro
greetings
Julian
Edit: at least it's a Intel HD Graphics 3000 -
It does, but it runs on the processor portion of the chip rather than the GPU, which makes it less useful. Intel said they were assessing OpenCL on the HD3000 chip in a future driver, but nothing is sure yet.

no, as a matter of fact, it isn't. aside from the fact that i'm not talking about financials.
remember that INTEL initiated the recall cause they wanted to, not cause end users were complaining about problems. the 1B is to replace ALL of the motherboards they shipped out, NOT the 5% that would be affected.
