I need to install an application on an employees computer here at work that needs to be able to view Excel documents on her mac that has OS 8 installed on it.

Any body know of a free or open source software that can be downloaded?

    Thanks - Mike

Good luck! You are going to need something like Excel Viewer and I don't think that will be easy to find for OS 8. The best direction I can give is to try out lowendmac.com. See if they have a solution.

Well I found something called icEcell that's free to try $20 to buy after 30 days so I have her using the trial for right now and so far so good.

    Thanks - Mike

Just a thought, but didn't Mac OSs before the Intel releases use to include AppleWorks or ClarisWorks for free? Those have a built-in spreadsheet program that should be Excel compatible. Also, the last version of Appleworks still supported OS 8.1 (which is a free update from OS 8), although I'm not sure if it's still available for sale.
