My sister has a MBP. She moved far a way and I was trying to help her install the gchat plug in over the phone, but it's a lost cause. It downloads the plug in file from here Google Chat - Chat with family and friends fine as a mpkg file. After it downloads and she tries to click to install it keeps asking her for a password. I presume her husband has an administrative password on there that prevents installation from users? She doesn't need one to log on to/use the laptop though, so she's not sure of what any passwords are. Am I going about this right? I just want to see her kids lol.

Using a browser, like Safari or Firefox, have her log in to her gmail account. There is a side panel with online contacts and if she double clicks on one of them, a chat window comes up. On that chat window is the option to begin a video chat. No need to install software.
