Just a heads up. The New OSX has removed the ability to Archive & Install and the Erase and Install option.
Also included in the optional Installs is QuickTime 7 and Rosetta. Also:
- OSX has also added a Software "incompatibility check" during the general Installation of OSX 10.6. Within the installer there is an List with Software Exclusions. With this list any known third party applications will automatically get disabled during the start up.
- The Exclusions lists also Applies to Migration assistant.
-
Archive and Install-what was this I forgot?

m8,slow down please and explain a bit better

3rd party software developers release information to apple basically letting Apple know that their software will not function on OSX 10.5.6. Apple confirms this and adds this to the list. If you have 10.5 with software that is on the list and you attempt to install v10.6 you will receive the error regarding incompatibly software at the end of the installation. Keep in mind. The list only includes software will have severe issues ect.. start up issues, Kernel panics.
you can read the list in /System/Library/PrivateFrameworks/SystemMigration.framework/ Resources/MigrationIncompatibleApplicationsList.plist.
However you must have 10.6 installed first to view the list. -

It is briefly mentioned here:

... under the "Installation" section. -
