Should I get Home and Student or Academic, which is better? Do they have the same version of word with the ribbon?

    Thanks

There are 2 version of Office 2011.

Home and student have Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
Home and Business will have Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
The applications between the two are exactly the same, so they all have the ribbon features etc, and work exactly the same.

If you go for the academic version, you get the full Home & Business edition of Office 2011.

I also purchased the academic edition at only £40 - its usually MUCH more then that. The Home & Student is £75-80 alone!!

Get the academic if you can - the full suite of apps at a fraction of the price.

Here is my install video (academic version).
Once installed, there is nothing in the software to show it is anything other then a full version.......

I actually did pay out for Home and Student!
The item had been dispatched and I realised there was an academic version available.
Hence I purchased the academic and returned the Home&Student I had purchased as soon as it arrived, since the seal etc was intact.

Not sure if you've installed it yet, but I have an installation video here if interested....

where to get Academic cheaply? I found from Microsoft the cheapest they'd sell it to me for would be $99. heck I only paid $29 for my Win7 Pro upgrade... I don't think I'll get MS Office if I have to pay that much for it.

If you're a student or faculty, check your school's select agreement. It's something like $55 through mine.
