Office for mac has not been optimized for the use of dual core processors. same goes for photoshop, and a few others.

Sadly this seems like the limitation of having only 512MB as standard configuration but remember that Microsoft Office is still not a Universal Binary and thus, has to be run through Rosetta. It's not as if Windows XP is a speed devil with only 512MB either ;)

When I inserted an extra 1GB in my MacBook Pro it helped quite a lot.

Also, maybe it's the gloss on the screen, but the text looked like it was "Cleartype"'d. I hate that stuff. Making it blurry and less crisp for some people visibility. Drives me nuts. Can that be turned off?

The next version of Office for mac will be Universal Binary, however it is first slated for next year, if I recall correctly.

Rosetta takes almost twice as longer compared to G5 due to binary issues.

In my opinion, I think Tiger OS X needs at least minimum of 1GB DDR/DDR2 memory just to keep the color wheel from occuring frequently.

I wished Apple added the two button right click feature to the touch pad since I don't usually carry a mouse with me.
