Is there a way to open videos outside of the safari browser? Some (not all) file types open in a tiny windows within the browser and I cannot change the size of the video when it does that. Therefore I would prefer the video to open in either Quicktime (externally) or VLC. Anyone know a way to force this behavior?

The general principle is that you want to set your browser behavior to open the file outside the browser, and then set the default application you use to open those files directly.

    What browser are you using?

Depending on the browser and the type of media file, there may be several possibilities.

The general method is to check your browser preferences under "Manage Applications" or something to the like, or under Plugins.

There are also some browser settings for Quicktime in System Preferences for OSX.

Finally, you'll want to change the default application to open certain media files in Finder. Right-click on the file in question, "Get Info", select the application you want to open it with and check "Change for All Files of this type".

the other method is to hold ctrl and use the two finger scroll or mouse wheel to zoom in.

I am using Safari but cannot find any settings to open videos outside the browser. Do you know where I can find this setting?
