I posted about this when the MBP first came out, but with no results other than people saying it would get too hot... maybe now people have had some experience with overclocking it on the MBP?
I gather you can essentially patch the firmware so it behaves as a 9700m GT. Are there other ways, as that sounds risky to me? Anyone overclocked theirs?
Alternatively, do any recent drivers give significantly better results?
Cheers,

I dont have a MBP but I do have a 9600m GT in my MSI and certian drivers are better than others. For me, the best drivers preformance wise is the Dox 185.68. I have mine closely clock to the 9700m GT and get 7400 in 3dmark06. It runs max at 74c in heavy gaming.

WOW!!!!!i run @84-85c.....some times upper 70's but my max is 85c when playing crysis warhead.

Yeah but the MSI has superior cooling compared to the MBP..

Yes. MSI is not crazy about 1" thick notebooks.

Install smcFanControl to run the fans above the standard low RPM. There's going to be some noise, but at least you won't fry your hands or the components.
Overclock / Benchmarks 9600M GT on Macbook Pro?
