I know macbooks are prone to overheat, but to me, mine is feels over the norm.
Whenever I run Photoshop even for about 20 minutes, my macbook is up to 65 degrees celcius.
My macbook is on my desk, with two large books underneath on the left and right to provide more airflow.
I run smcFanControl at the highest (6212rpm) whenever I open up photoshop.
Am I doing something wrong? Is 65 degrees normal? or should I just get a cooling pad?

65 degrees is normal. Keep in mind these CPUs are built to run at high temperatures.. (up to 100+ degrees)
I wouldn't be worried if I were you... perhaps invest in a notebook cooling pad if you're really worried about it. -
Yeah, those temps are around what I am getting with my new MacBook. Doesn't get uncomfortable on my lap, though.

That is fine. 65 C while working the processor such as doing Photoshop work is fine. Unless you go over 100 C, the internal components won't get damaged.

x) Thanks everyone.
Usually I try to keep my macbook at about 50-55degrees. So it's probably just me. -
I leave my MacBook around that temperature too. Using SMCFanControl to set fans at 3600 RPM, my MacBook usually stays around 45-55 C.
