    Hey guys!

I have a white macbook 2Ghz, 2GB Ram. I'm planning to get a 19" widescreen monitor for web designing and programming. + some movie viewing...

so far I've narrowed in on ViewSonic VA1912WB . But heard it has got lotsa bleeding..? and since i would be using photoshop a lot..would prefer the black to be black...or atleast as close as possible...

need your valuable suggestions to pick my first LCD.

and for all the mac users..its been 3 months since i moved into mac..i'm loving it.. and windows sucks big time..

Well, I just recently purchased a 19" widescreen for my Macbook with the exact same specs that you have.

No light leakage or bleeding, you can also use Apples Display color calibration for getting your colors more accurate and stuff, but I didnt really need to do it.

    This is what I got
    http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.asp?Item=N82E16824254005

Of course it was 182.99 with free shipping as it was on a special. Beautiful monitor though, plus for the price it even has DVI.

I've had their CRT monitors and we had great luck with them. Nice picture quality all the way to the death of the machine (It was over 6 years old when it died). It had an electrical issue that caused it to constantly degauss. The picture was awesome though.

At my last job they were just starting to get the Viewsonic LCD's in and they were gorgeous.

Why not take a trip to a store to look at them, then do your price shopping online?

    Good luck!

Can't really go wrong with Viewsonic, I haven't ever seen a monitor of theirs that looked bad, however if you aren't comfortable going with the Hanns-G I have recommended and I don't blame you since its not exactly namebrand such as ViewSonic. Anyways if you feel that way, Viewsonic is definitely one to take a look at, however expect higher than average prices.

I am not sure what the price on that ViewSonic is, but have you considered a Dell 20"? It can be had for arounf 350 I think, and would give you excellent picture and another inch of space.
