So Photoshop CS 4 is giving me corrupt graphics. It's very random, I've only come across it a couple of times.

Here's the picture: Click! (1Mb png)

Does this mean that my 9600 is faulty, since CS 4 is using my GPU?

(the only reason I linked the picture is because it's 1680x1050 and 1MB, and I didn't want to stretch the page)

If the GPU was faulty, wouldn't you get distorted graphics on the entire screen? Can you run any games on it and see if they show any graphical problems? Since you say it's only happened once or twice, it might be that CS4 has a bug or two in it causing the problem and is NOT the GPU's fault (yet).

i agree that this is a photoshop cs4 problem and not a problem with your graphics card.

    cs4 is still glitchy.

i tried cs4, and i decided to just continue cs3.

Do you have the same problem when you're running on 9400M?

@Philip: it's not an actual problem. It only happened to me twice.

And I can't run OS X on the 9400 because I have a 22" LG that blinks when I'm using it. So I have to run with the 9400.

If it was a graphics card problem, im not sure if you would be able to take a screenshot of it.

i haven't had any issues with CS4 at all, I love it, and use it extensively. if it is consistant you may want to re-install.

Seems like CS4's problem as only certain area is affected by the blotch and not the whole screen.

If it were an issue with the graphics card itself I'm sure you'd see more graphics corruption, not just inside of the Photoshop document window (instead, your entire screen would be scrambled).

You may want to check your preferences, there is definitely a chance something is going on with your GPU, as Photoshop uses OpenGL in a completely different way than the OS.

    like I said, reinstall photoshop.

I'm using CS4 just fine with my 8600GT (MBP) -.-

By the way, you can disable GPU OpenGL usage in Preferences. Try to see if it helps.

if it does, it is possible something is going on with the install, it would be somewhat odd for the only problems to come up would be in photoshop, although not impossible.
