Well, it seems the Alum MBP's USB ports are just a bit too close to each other. I can't use my wireless mouse while I have my Cruzer flash drive plugged in, because ones side gets in the way of the other. Just great . It might be a minor annoyance to some, but it's a huge deal for me. I hate using any laptop's touchpad. Be warned future buyers.

Yeah, I agree, the USB ports are a bit close together. When I am at my desk, I use a mouse, and the mouse and external HDD USB plugs will not both fit at the same time. Yeah, it's a nuisance sometimes, but that's where the USB hub comes in handy for me. :D

Hm, has it changed from the original placement on the white MacBook? Because for me, I don't run into issues unless I'm using really wide flash drives (like SanDisk Titaniums). But definitely, I understand and would like that to change!

Blue tooth mouse or a usb hub. If you sitting at a desk just get a 7 port usb hub. Like the belkin that has two usb ports on the top perfect for using with usb drives.

I used a 4 port USB hub and the transfer rates slowed down dramatically.
for example: One for mouse and the other one for transferring files off my camera. the camera transferred at a max of 2MB/s. meanwhile my phone took a while to charge too.
My Suggestion: Anything that's transferring big files, such as usb drive, camera card; connect it directly to the mac usb. everything else connect it to the 4 port usb hub; such as mouse or charging phone.

Personally, I'd rather blame the numerous companies out there who insist on creating wide USB plugs/devices.

Keep in mind that the SanDisk cruzers are much wider than a standard USB cable, I have seen this on many different computers, as I have three of the bloody things on my keychain.

but Cruzers are just my favorite flashdrive, it is a worthwhile compromise in my opinion to have both. why can't apple make a flash drive with their nice white connectors? not to mention a nice USB cable with the same design. it all looks so great but then you always have some crappy looking cable for a HDD or printer that ruins everything! ^_^
