Just got my Logitech V470 BT mouse for the MacBook Air. It's just awful. So much input lag I might barf. I went straight back to my VX Nano. Pointing bliss!
Just.... ick! Why do people buy BT mice? I paid $5 after rebate for the V470, and I still feel ripped off!
FYI, I also tried the Mighty Mouse BT, and that blew in much the same way. BT = overrated.
That said, I love the BT Apple keyboard.![]()

My Logitech V270 works fine with my Macbook ever since I bought it a year and a half ago...maybe it's the bluetooth module in your MBA that's acting up, or were you perhaps transferring some files or data via Bluetooth while trying out the mice (mouses??)? Perhaps you just have bad luck when it comes to bluetooth mice.
I bought the bluetooth mouse because it is a very good device to use on the move. No wired to mess around etc. Has a nice range as well. It also has social benefits, for example some of my friends once stole my mice and were controlling my Macbook from the labs next door. That was a fun experience. -
Nope, tested the V470 with both my MacBook Pro and MacBook Air. Just ghastly. It's waaaay more noticeable on a big external display as well, by the way. I've NEVER had a good experience with a BT mouse, since the very first BT mouse I tried (MX5000 BT). If you don't notice the lag, good for you. I'd hate to draw your attention to it.

You do know that USB has a faster data rate then blue tooth as well. If you are gaming you will probably notice a difference as well for the dpi differences.

The slight lag on bluetooth mice (early wireless, too) bothers some people, while others don't even notice it. I really don't have a problem with it. Bluetooth is all about convenience; if I ever were to do something that required very precision pointing (fps) I would definitely use a wired mouse.

microsoft BT notebook mouse 5000 here. under 30$ OEM at microcenter.
love it. wish i wouldve bought a second.
great little mouse.
its laser too, from what i read. -
I think that apples bluetooth mouse drivers arnt that great. If youre doing a lot cpu useage, then it can lag.
In windows I can be playing a game and it wont lag, might just be me.
Though I love my bluetooth mouse, and its fine overall. -
The Mighty Mouse is decent...

The v270 is just a terrible mouse. Only BT one I've tried. But I agree thats it's a terrible mouse. $5 is too much for that piece of crap.

I used mine for about a week and put it in it's little case and turned it into a toy for my ferret (hide and seek!). -
I used a Microsoft 8000 bluetooth mouse with a MBP and it worked very well that is after i got it pair with my Mac.

I've been using a Bluetooth mouse with my Macbook for over a year now and it works perfectly. Movement is faster than the touchpad, and no, the sensitivity setting isn't jacked up, it's dead center just like the touch pad.
In fact, a co-worker just used my computer yesterday and mentioned that it was the most sensitive mouse he's used. That's probably because of the surface, but still, it works absolutely flawlessly.
The only downside I have to using a BT mouse is that the initial handshake when I turn it on takes forever. A wireless USB mouse is ready to use almost instantaneously, but the BT one takes a good 10 seconds or so before it's ready to go. -
I've never seen a bluetooth mouse that I liked physically, but I'll still stick with a good wired mouse for a long time.
I might lose my mice if they weren't attached by somethingMy desk is a complete mess of car parts (mostly transmission parts at the moment), two disassembled laptops, and my desktops with their monitors. Got tools too (screwdrivers, pliers, digital vernier calipers, measuring tape).
Oh, and my open beer bottle and glass of whiskey.
A bluetooth mouse would get lost. -
i owned a v270 with my previous MBP. it went bye bye, it was the first trash product ive ever gotten from LT.
i think its more apple to blame than logitech though for the driver stuff.
my MS notebook 5000 mouse is wonderful. Cheap (30$ OEM microcenter), its laser, and its small -
well, I'd almost agree, except that it doesn't work well on PC's either. I've tried on 3 different computers (including my MBP) and it didn't work well on any. -
I have a kensington bluetooth pocket mouse and that works really well, I've been through them all and after 10 bluetooth mouse.. kensington bluetooth pocket mouse is the way to go! =D

This really is one of those things that if you DON'T notice the lag, good!!! But it IS there on ALL BT mice. It's the nature of BT, sadly. I've used so many I've lost count.
Please don't get a BT mouse for your Mac... please...
