Hey guys! This IS a rumour, but it looks like a very realistic one, considering the 9th of September event, the rumoured October event, and the screenshot in the following article:
http://digg.com/apple/EXCLUSIVE_iMac_s_to_get_Spec_Bump_and_Massive_Price_Cuts
Don't flame me if this doesn't turn out to be real, it was only a matter of time before someone else posted it here...
But yeah, it seems to be pretty realistic in my opinion. BTW, I know the screenshot could easilly have been Photoshoped, but still, pretty awesome if it was real!
Sorry if it turns out to not be real and getting up your hopes iMac lovers...

too good to be true

Yeah, what about finally upgrading the mac mini too?

What makes you say that, they did it a few years ago, with the white iMacs? 17" white iMacs are the same as price(or were) as the new 20" iMacs and the 24" iMacs were dropped, right? I doubt they can't afford it... they probably don't cost anymore than 100 pounds to make... and Apple is so popular anyway, they'd probably make more money because more people could afford one, so the price drop will be compensated by all the new customours, because, personally, I think a 800 pound desktop for most is a bit too much... 700 pound is about average for one of the iMac.
Or does my logic EPIK PHAILURE?
. I hope it's not too good to be true...

Yeah, but if you think about it, a Mac mini+ Apple keyboard+ Apple might mouse+ Apple 20" Monitor= 865 pounds, with like half the hardware specifications on an iMac.
iMac with all of the above and way better hardware(minus the Mac Mini, of course, lol)= 800 pounds.
It's just a rip-off... I mean, it's O-K when you have all the other accesories, or you just don't care about going all Apple, but in my opinion, it is a rip-off. Sorry to Mac Mini peoples who think it's a good buy over the iMac... I guess Apple accesories are A BIT over priced and maybe a bit of a rip off compared to Dell and Logitech pepherials.

EDIT: And STDP...=[ -
Thanks for being the messenger
, but I don't believe it either...in part that its a digg post with no real backing.
I mean, I just got the latest photos of the third generation iPhone, my sources at Apple gave them to me:
But yeah, if there was more backing, it might be more realistic, but plus the fact that the iMac is right now the most recently updated Mac already, I don't believe it! -
XD. Well, it is only really Jon4Lakers.com which actually is making a big fuss about it... I wish it was true though
. That would pwn.
BTW, the new iPhone looks awesome. Is it still EDGE though?
Jk

Possibility of iMac price drop and specification raised.
