Apple will announce a bunch of cool stuff I cannot afford
.
I'm expecting a release date and more info about Snow Leopard, an iPhone 3.0, and updates to the iPod lineup -
snow leopard is much awaited. but we'll get the iphone 3g specs for sure.

I'm hoping that the 13" Macbook becomes a Macbook Pro. I just sold my Rev B Air today and I want a Macbook but the Pro in a 13" model would be great! Of course this is a developer conference so for me I'm just looking forward to Snow Leopard to quiet down the delusional Windows 7 fans.

1) Snow Leopard
2) iPhone OS 3.0
3) iPhone version 3
4) Steve will make a suprise appearance. -
The only differences are, speakers, gpu, larger screen size.
You really cant change the speakers as there is no room on the 13", and you cant fit the gpu either because of the size again, and larger screen.. well its a 13" model -
-
Perhaps minor processor and hard drive upgrades to the Macbook and Macbook Pro.
-
Yet another new form factor for the Shuffle: suppository!
-
dropping OSX for Windows 7
(sorry, couldn't resist for such a lame thread) -

I was simply pointing out that you're not the only one to ever bring this up, and the response is always the same. So many want a powerful gaming system in such a small form factor, and it's really not possible. The heat dissipation requirements are just too high for a dedicated card in such a small form factor, and that's where the nvidia 9400m really shines.
I can tell you, this macbook runs on average 10-15 degrees warmer just surfing the net, than my previous macbook with intel integrated graphics (and the intel model had a faster, larger (as in processor die size) processor than the nvidia one does).
Plus, nvidia cards are notorious for being power hungry, and running hot. It just would not be a good combination in the 13" macbook. It only has one fan to cool the entire system, and I watch some times when the fans go up to 6000 rpm, and it takes a little while (several minutes) to cool back down to the 50's. It just wouldn't work.
About the ports, I guess it comes down to price scale. If you want a professional system, you'll have to go up one or two levels and get the macbook pro. Unfortunately that's economics, and you have capitalism to thank for it. Seriously though, looking at my macbook now, almost the entire left side is crammed with ports. Power port, ethernet, mini-dvi, firewire, 2 USB, mic, and headphone/speaker adapters, plus a lock slot. It would be hard to cram much more into it, because the right side is occupied by the internal hard drive, and optical drive. Either way, I like the design and don't want them to change it. I like simplicity, and I don't want 20 ports taking up room and cords tangling everywhere (it's just an example).
I think the macbook is great the way it is. -

Let's try to stay civilized in this forum - thanks.

Not jumping on you, just trying to bring up the point that you stated that you wanted a 13" version of the MBP which is technically what the MB is minus the screen size, GPU, and speakers, which cannot be put into the MB due to its size. But I agree, things like firewire and express card slot can be accomodated to be put in there.

Let's hope the snow leopard comes with that WOW factor!!

As a couple others pointed out in another thread said, with the very recent white macbook update, there has got to be an update very soon for the unibody. As it stands, the white macbook supports 800MHz RAM (verified!
), is now at 2.13GHz (faster than the unibody), and $300 cheaper than the base unibody macbook.
I can't imagine Steve and Company would allow it to remain that way for long.So I think perhaps we will see (even if it's just silent) an update to the unibody.
What I can't understand is, you still get firewire with the white macbook, and along with everything else, it seems to compete very strongly against the unibody macbook. Could it be, that the unibody has flopped? I wonder. -
$300 for the trackpad, slimmer design, better screen (LED), better battery life, lighter, and MBP style look.
-
It may others but, the fact is the $999 macbook is very competetive with the unibody, and I'm sure many choose to go the whitebook route than the alumibody.
I don't see where you get the battery life is better. The internals are the same, and I've read the battery life is the same as well. -
-
I expect them to introduce the third-generation iPhone - there's enough buzz to warrant it. I think the matte back is true, not sure about the other rumours. Video sounds pretty solid as well.
Snow Leopard seems to be mentioned, or at least will get a "second keynote" like last year. -
yes, snow leopard will be announced. there are pics of its banners at the conference venue.

5 minutes more battery !
