Well, after nearly a month of researching and in-store demos, I've just about set myself on getting the new black macbook. Having come from an Apple family, but me being a PC guy for years, I've finally felt ok making the switch. My friends think I'm doing it for the sake of it being and Apple - it's trendy and cool. But, I've found that actually i really like the Mac OS. I am, however, ALMOST tempted to get an HP with equal and better parts. Help me stay swayed towards mac. I really do want one, but my PC-mind wants me to take on Vista. Just convince me enough. Oh, and, is Mac OS Tiger in the new macbooks?

Go for it! I made the leap to a mac then back to a pc. I couldn't live without a mac so I bought a mini. I'd rather stayed on a macbook in the first place.

Oh, your the guy form earlier. ;)
You exactly know what's the difference.Just keep in mind. The keyboard layout is extremely stupid on the macbook. At least I couldn't bear to code with it and gave up after 4 minutes. The rest is really up to you.Unless you wish the threat to be filled with some form of fanboy battle...
It's your own decision.Take a very good look at them.Read about the issues
    "No laptop is perfect(TM)".
Make sure you'll not regret your purchase...
But if you insist... Post your impression about both of them.

If you like Mac OS X, that is the primary and best reason to get a Mac.

Agreed. I also agree with mutaba above, no laptop is perfect. Don't expect it from a Macbook, and you'll sure like it in its advantages and disadvantages. Besides, you can run Windows in more than one way, but if you really like OS X, you'll use it just when needed, like I do.
Leopard still haven't been released, and no one knows for sure when it will be, but it is surely getting closer. Tiger is nice but I'd really like some of the new features in Leopard.

I'd recommend the Macbook. It's really a nice machine, and you can run Windows XP if you really want to. Whatever you do, I recommend that you stay away from Vista. I just can't say that it's a good idea for anyone given its WGA and DRM issues.
