Does anyone know a fix on how to prevent a usb peripheral (ie mouse) from waking my Mac from sleep? Or is this inherent in the design of the OS?
I am using a wireless RF mouse and any movement will wake the Mac from sleep, regardless if it's in the clamshell mode or not.
Thanks in advance.
Edit: You know, sometimes Google just outright scares me. I was doing a bit of research on the above topic and not even 3 minutes after I post the above post, I find this thread on Google (cached too). Freaky!

You could unplug the USB device.
If it was a bluetooth mouse you could change the settings so it wouldn't wake the computer. I don't see anything on disabling a USB device though. Hopefully someone will have an answer for you. -
Ughh, this problem has been around for as long as I can remember. My mac mini wakes up when I turn off the Epson printer attached to it by USB. Go figure.
There isn't the equivalent of "Disable Wake on USB" per device like in Windows. -
Apparently Apple keeps the USB powered in sleep mode so you can still charge your iPod :|
You could always turn your mouse upside down -
Thanks for the replies everyone. Honestly, it's not too huge of a deal, it's easy enough to turn off the mouse, but I'd thought I'd inquire in case there was a quick fix that someone found. I've tried bluetooth, but wasn't a fan of the lag (after 5 seconds, the mouse would go into a power saving mode = lag). Anyways, thanks again and +rep for all
