Pricing is the downfall this time IMO, considering the everyone's current financial situation. The new products are indeed worth their price, but pricing most of your products at such high prices makes it out of reach.

apple is really...I love apple, their products feel so good, but now i just can't justify the price.Like I know apple and might pay more to have it,but now when people come to our WNSIB,I can't recommend them to get MacBook or MBP...
but i hope when apple understands this(after loosing money),they ll lower the prices and bring back matte screen

Apple makes a nice product but i dont like the price point. I think it will cause a lot of people to re think their apple purchases.
Me, i like the macbook, but i dont like the price. Ill wait for a price drop (something apple did for their iPhones, a while back) or just look for another alternative.
Remember, the macbook is something new and shiny, obviously there is going to be a premium for the early purchasers. Common business practise. -
If you think the US is bad, Try the British site. Its gone from £699 to £949! OR in your dollars like $400 or so. In the US they reduced the white macbook price by $100 in the UK they put it up £20 to £719!
I can tell i'l be PMing Mr Jobs -
The price isn't really the big factor for me; it's comparable to an XPS M1330 with an LED screen, though the value is a little less (no VGA, no fingerprint scanner, a little less memory, etc). The flip side is that the new Macbook has a better design in my opinion, (I hate headphone jacks on the front) and a better look, not to mention it's a Mac.
My problem is that the base Macbook doesn't have a backlit keyboard. That was lame. Why couldn't they just give it a backlit keyboard like all the others? I was all set to buy one until I realized that. I'm still debating, but it's harder to pull the trigger now. I'll play with it at the Apple store today.
Back to the price, though, I really don't know what people were expecting. It's the same prices Apple has used since the Macbooks debuted. So there isn't a $1099 next gen Macbook, there is a lot more you get out of it. They should have bumped specs on the plastic Macbooks and dropped the prices, then just made the next gen Macbooks a 13" Macbook Pro. Oh well.
Pricing causing you to reconsider MB/MBP?
