I inspired my girlfriend to buy an Apple Macbook Pro, but I have a few questions for you.
We are speaking about the new releases, which are now at the apple.com website.
I read a lot about Mac and Win support, ways and so on, but you are users, and maybe someone is tried a lot...so :
    The important questions are:
Is there real Windows XP/Vista/7 support for the new Macs 13.3" or 15.4", for example: Is it possible to run Win 7 through BootCamp without problems, and is everything working good - Wifi, Lan, sound, touchpad, bluetooth, camera, etc.
Also what about the Applications: I'm interested in (windows versions) Photoshop, MS Office, MS Visual Studio(or some other packages for programming in C/C++ also on PHP and etc.)
What about playing movies in HiDef but in Windows, also Games?!
Are there good video/audio drivers, codec packs, everything?

Explain as much as you can.
Also she's going to use OS X, but I'm not familiar with the programming software in OS X. She's going to do Web design, Photoshop editing, Video Editing, Programming, PHP, C++, other also.

And what about gaming under mac's nvidia 9400 or 9600 maybe. Is Assassins Creed going to be playable for example, or old Prince of Persia Triple pack?

    Thanks for your attention.

It looks like what the uses and needs would be it would be better if you got a Windows Based Laptop especially if you are going to be using Photoshop, MS Office, MS Visual Studio in Windows.

Bootcamp can run windows 80-90% not fully i believe mostly its the battery and heat atm.

You can Also Use VMware Or parrelles To Run Windows for those apps and just bootcamp for gaming

The only "problem" with bootcamp are minor issues with the trackpad, and the KBC/EC controller. Also with the release of Bootcamp 3.0 w/ Snow Leopard these will be fixed. iWeb is a very nice web design program that comes with iLife if she will be doing intro things, if not there were several other good alternatives. Video Editing is probably simpler and better on Mac then it iwll be on Windows. Photoshop will be pretty much the same on Windows or OS X. Any C based programming will run great because OS X coding is very closely tied to UNIX. The 9600M GT will be able to play modern games that are out there on medium settigs at about medium res, and older games at high res and high settings. The 9600M GT should be able to play Assasins Creed at High settings and high res, and the old prince of persia triple pack will play even on the 9400 M.

The Bootcamp drivers provide you with everything to need to run Windows On bootcamp fluidly and smoothly.

You can also run windows apps like photoshop and office directly on OS X through VM Ware fusion or Crossover Apps.

Yeah, exactly, it looks like you are more interested in Windows OS use than the MacOS use. Get Windows laptop, you will save money, it will be better spec and you won't have compatibility problems or the questions you have nowetc.
Maybe you should ask yourself "why does she/I want to buy Apple MacBook Pro?"
Nevermind, if you buy Apple though, buy the best you can afford as far as concerns CPU and GPU since they are not upgradeable. 9600M GT will be better to choose for games. For HD movies, 9400M is more than enough.

Yes, I know that Windows based laptop will be better, but anyway in that 80-90% do you know is PHP/Apache, Visual Studio or some cpp programing developer included.

So there are heat issues, but do you know also what kind of?

Good logic, and the answer is because of the Brand, of the design, of the quality of the display and the barebone.
Because of the apple logo, and specially because of the great design of OS X too!
I like that, she like that. Only compatibility maybe are going to be issues.

    Good answer, thank you MKang25.
Are you sure that this is the only problem, I heard that all Win-apps which use
win libraries have some trouble running in bootcamp.
Now I'm searching for any app/games compatibility list.

Thanks all of you for the answers, anyway, do someone use macbook in similar way?

bootcamp is not software that runs Windows. Bootcamp is software that helps you install Windows. once you have Windows installed with Bootcamp, its a normal dual boot machine, just like a PC dual booted with Windows and Linux. You can boot up directly into Windows, and its just like a normal Windows machine. The "problems" people are referring too are mostly all minor issues with drivers.

PHP and Apache are very far from being Windows software, and was originally designed to not be MS bound. You can do anything you want with PHP and apache in OSX, just like Linux or whatever. C programming including cpp is also fine on OSX.. now if your using it to write Windows specific code, then you'll want a Windows install to test things on... and if you have to use stuff like Visual Studio... your going to be stuck with Windows. People who develop software of any type that have never used anything but MS bound code and tools are usually lost for awhile trying to get away from MS... there are tons of programmers out there that do not know anything but MS, and would be out of a job of MS disappeared. I'd suggest diversifying a bit.
